Background

Differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) is a technique used to study what happens to polymers when they're heated. By studying the thermal transitions occurring within the material information is acquired on the nature of the polymer.

Applications include:

  • Melting temperature
  • Glass transition temperature of polymers
  • Crystallinity of polymers
