HUMIDITY TESTING

A saturated aqueous solution of a non-volatile salt contained within a sealed temperature controlled chamber is a convenient method of achieving a fixed humidity. The solution is present as a slushy mixture to ensure excess solute is present and the solution remains saturated.

A range of humidity levels may be achieved by using different salt solutions.

The Townsend & Mercer Desiccator Cabinet can be used to achieve fixed humidities at temperatures between room temperature and 50°C.
